Pull up a comfy chair, pour yourself a glass of your favorite fizzy beverage,
and make yourself at home - it's that historical greeting synonymous with GameTalk! Welcome to The Old GameTalk, a hopefully similiar site that can be used as a stop-gap for all your gaming needs! Need help? Just read below:
GETTING STARTED
Most of the old GameTalk's gaming forums can be located at the quicklinks below this helpful tutorial. If you cannot find the game you are looking for, just use the search bar above and type in any word associated with the game. If you still cannot find it, create a request for the forum to be made in the Requests forum.
As a suggestion to get started, you can always make an introduction post in the forum of your choosing - as you can see, we have quite a variety of forums on hand that you can post in - or you can just get stuck right as if you're an oldie (we won't tell ;P)
If you're new and have never visited GameTalk.com before, here's the easy guide on how to post! Click on a forum of your choosing from either above or below to see all the messages for that forum. You can either click on one of the threads, scroll to the bottom and see the link to reply to that post. If you want to start your own thread, just scroll to the bottom of the forum and click on the chat link. Enter all the information we ask and post it, and see your message at the top of the forum. Easy!
If you find yourself in need of any help, our Help forum is located at the top of the quicklinks. Just make a post and we'll be sure to help you as fast as we can possibly type.
WHAT'S ALLOWED IN THE FORUMS? HOW ARE THE FORUMS PROTECTED?
We do not gather any personal information about our visitors and we also do not use tracking devices known as "cookies". However, as our community is only small so far, there are a few moderators (members who have been allowed powers) to help keep the old GameTalk a nice and comfortable place to be. Moderators have the ability to delete posts and replies, ban usernames and IP addresses (Internet Protocols), and are generally available for help should the need arise. They are the police of the forums!
We encourage posts to be appropriate to their forum, to be respectful, and to be free from bad or hateful language. Violations are handled with a range of things from gentle reminders and warnings, to having your posts removed, and to having your name and/or IP address banned from certain forums or from the entire website. We generally tolerate things as much as possible, including arguments about the old GameTalk or our policies.
We do not allow people to solicit personal information from each other (a/s/l), we do not allow advertising, we do not allow the posting of game keys or cracks, and we ask you provide help to new members whenever needed.
WHO ARE THE OLD GAMETALK MODERATORS?
Our Moderators are dedicated to establishing and maintaining the old GameTalk's role as a safe and friendly community, however little. Moderators can mostly be found patrolling the forums they moderate and helping keep other forums as clean as possible. To apply to be a moderator yourself, all you need to do is click on the forum you wish to mod, and if there is no moderator of that forum click on the 'apply to be a moderator' link below the forum's title.
FINALLY...
Please have fun and make yourself at home! We hope that you enjoy GameTalk Restoration as much as you enjoyed GameTalk.com! And remember: the old GameTalk will only be open during GameTalk.com's downtime.
